To create the leaves on these sweet potatoes, I used an etching tool that I used for a clay class. If you are very careful, you could use a small knife to carve out the patterns.
Simple yet Festive Sweet Potato Details
Have fun and get creative with these festive sweet potatoes! Usually I use ghee for baking because it tolerates higher temperatures and olive oil burns faster. But because of that, I used olive oil as it burns the sweet potatoes just a little, which makes the pattern pop out more!
Ingredients:
- Sweet potatoes, as many as you’d like
- Olive oil for brushing on top of the sweet potato slices
Place your sweet potatoes, design side up, on your cookies sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil.
Bake the sweet potatoes for approximately 30 minutes or until they are crispy on the top and soft on the inside.

Ingredients
- sweet potatoes, as many as you'd like
- olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 357° F . Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Cut your sweet potatoes lengthwise into 1/4 - 1/2 inch slices.
- Take an etching tool or knife and carefully draw the design of a leaf (or an other idea you have!) on your sweet potato slice.
- Place your sweet potatoes, design side up, on your cookies sheet. Brush each slice with olive oil.
- Bake the sweet potatoes for approximately 30 minutes or until they are crispy on the top and soft on the inside.
